Dear all,

I received my shipment of Glass marbles today. They are beautiful and good
dark red colors from glassmarbles.com in NY. Anyway Now I have to decide
which glass type to use on the 24 inch WTC -stoneware Commemorative. I
will have a choice of either clear or solid opaque...has to be one or the
other....and so hope the colors will retain and not burn out at cone 9
reduction fire on Monday of next week. The marbles are 25mm so fairly big
and all together may make quite a pool so I will really have to slow cool
to avoid cracking the piece even more :) . A lot at stake but wishing for
the best. Any input and pool of advise from the artisans would be welcome.
Hope I don't regret my choice of glass instead of low fired glaze
colors? Isn't Ceramics wonderful!

Say a little prayer for me

Glass that I have used seems to get pretty messy at
those temperatures. Why not fire the plate to ^9,
then refire at low temperatures to add the glass?

Also, you could break the marbles to get pieces
that are easier to position, and make it easier to
guess the fired volume.
