Still not as good as those good old 'SS' drinking songs in the beer gardens
of Chicago and Milwalkee back in the latter 'thirties...
But I guess ol' Stalingrad took some of the starch outta that whole
esprit-de-corps...or after a while it did...
And in looking back, I suppose they were so much more innocent, too.
At least as far as their shere numerical cumulative result in rubbing out
political detainees.
Ol' Mr. Adolf Hitler or his assigns, rubbed out, what, maybe 7 million?
Uncle 'Joe' Stalin, and his, about 26 million?
An' ol' Chairman Mao, something on the order of 35 million?
Hows about a 'Pol Pot' Choir?
Or a troop of 'Tap-Dancers' from his legacies?
Let 'em dazzle ya!
... 'entertainment'...
Just whar ARE they 'singing' about?
Ohhhh..."There's NO business, like SHOW business, there's NO business, I
know...!
Just joshing...well, sort of...or then again, maybe not.

Subject: a bit a info for the group (OT)
If you ever get the chance to see the
Red Star Red Army Chorus and Dance Ensemble of the Strategic Rocket Troops,
do so. They are a part of the Armed Forces of the Commonwealth of
Independent States (Russia) My sister surprised me by purchasing a ticket
for me and taking me to see them perform. She said I needed to get out
more. :)
The group is touring North America from February until April 2002. There
program consists of Russian folk music, Ukrainian folk music and dances,
Cossack dances and much more. The dancers wore different traditional
costumes for each dance and the chorus members were in military dress
uniforms. I could never convey just how great this show was. Oh and they
also sang a few American songs. Their encore was Memories from Cats and God
Bless America.
