Greetings all,
By all means get the local firefighters on your side. The ones that live
around Doyle are definitely closet pyromaniacs, well maybe not so
closet. The new woodkiln is visible to the motorists on hwy 395, so with
every stoke they are treated to the flame from the stack, 3 or 4 feet
long. They get all paniced of course, and start searching for their cell
phone to call 911 while careening down the road at 75. Anyway a lot of
them must find 'em because Susanville fire dispatch always gets a lot of
calls. Now when I fire I notify four different fire departments.
The local BLM firefighters (the Doyle Bad Boys) love to come stoke and
be around the fire. I think it has something to do with the time of
year, spring or fall, and they miss the fire. Now it's spring almost and
they haven't seen a mountain range burn up in a while, so I bet they'll
all show up next month for the spring firing. Most of them have become
my frends and are great supporters and advocates for the pottery.
