itc 213 and olympic 3027

I am planning to redo the elements on our Olympic 3027 and have gotten the
new ones from Euclids. I know about washing them with bleach and have read
the Clayart archives on ITC at potters.org. Is one pint of ITC 213 going to
be enough for all the coils? Has anybody done this to a kiln of this size? I
would rather not buy another pint if it isn't necessary. It has about 16
cubic feet. I like the idea of looping them through a drywall mud tray and
hang dry. How strong is the ITC coating once it dries on the coils?
So many questions, so little time...
Thanks!

Hi, Scott,
I find coils are like wrestling snakes. The ITC is easy to scratch off
until it dries. Then it seems ok. Keep your connections clean.

Scott - Pint should be plenty. Got a pint year or two ago, have
coated elements for two 7 cu. ft. kilns, one 10 cu. ft. and one 4 cu.
ft. kiln, still have some left. Watered down ITC by 1/4. Make certain
you keep that stuff stirred - I mean after each coil & use plastic
spoon. Be sure not to coat the pigtails.
