break in value of pots in a pinch

Do they ever take the pots? I was running out of gas years ago in =
southern Indiana (before I had a credit card). Out of money too. I had a =
very nice (I thought) stoneware vase in my back seat. I probably would =
have asked $30 at a craft fair. I went into a Dairy Queen and held up the =
pot and anounced to all that I would sell this pot for $5. The incredulous=
stairs led me to believe that the crowd was ready to call the cops on =
this fool. Fortunatly I was able to detour to a friend's house for a =
loan.

I had a break in a few years ago. They took a checkbook, leatherman =
knife, and some cash I had. They did not take any pots, CDs or my stereo. =
The stereo was way too old and all of my CD's were in the wrong cases. I =
have a bit of an organizational problem. They had them all layed out. I =
guess they were trying to match up CD's to cases. The cops said they are =
worthless without the case since they can't trade them in to used CD =
stores without the case. This ended an arguement with my wife that the =
CDs should go in the proper case. =20

The checkbook was the worse thing they took. I got bad checks in my name =
for about 6 months. It amazed me how many people took checks without =
checking ID. Also amazed that they would not send images from their =
security cameras to cops. They had them on tape writing the checks. =
Walgreens was the only place that really gave me a hassle. They sent my =
name to a collection agency. I had to send Police report etc before they =
would leave me alone. No problems on credit. =20

Break ins are hard on you. Makes you feel bad. Good luck, I know how you =
feel right now.
