I will be installing a kiln soon and I am wondering about what measures I
need to take regarding fire safety with respect to the floor. The floor
covering is currently an indoor/outdoor carpet with either cement or wood
underneath. I know one area is cement but I do not know about the whole
floor. I plan to cut out the rug in a 6' x 6' area and, if the floor is
cement, do nothing further. If however, the floor is wood, I was planning
to put down 2'x 2' x 1-1/2" pavers to cover the 6' x 6' area. Should I do
anything more or do anything more effective?
