Hi,
In 2000 someone who was at NCECA kindly posted pictures, or it was a link,
of familiar writers to Clayart, and a few pots, and the mug exchange table.
It was fun for us stay-at-homes to put faces to names.
Last year I looked hard, but couldn`t find any such post. Will someone who
was at NCECA this year be posting? PLEASE?! Lela

Thank you Fabienne. I lost your address. I enjoyed the NCECA pictures from
last year on your site and look forward to this year`s when they are ready.
You have a nice site, and I must say your lovely cone 6 pots have inspired.
Renewed energy for a morning of testing and throwing.
Best Wishes to all, from Lela, where it`s been way below 0 Cent. for too
long.

Greetings,

I want to apologize for the length and poor navigation on my slide shows; I was eager to get it up for everyone to see. I added a link in the thumbnail frame at the top so you won't be stuck AND I have halved the time to view them. Remember you can always click on thumbnails to skip ahead :)

With that said, the images are at http://64.245.23.53/events/NCECA03/Default.htm and mug exchange list at http://64.245.23.53/events/exchange.htm

Cheers,

Fabienne

Hello all... (I just sent this with the wrong subject; oh well, here it
goes again....)

Here are my photos from NCECA... really I did not spend the entire time in
the clayart room, I just kept forgetting to take pictures most other
places. (Except the Clay Times exhibit, that was so amazing, seeing all
those pots "in person" instead of in print! So of course I took a bunch of
pictures so I can once again see the pots in print ;- )

I didn't get *everyone's* names in the file names, but you get the idea.

Enjoy! http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/krc3camp/my_photos

(I can't believe I'm up to 3 posts in one week! I'm gonna start getting
used to this, and THEN where will we be ;-)

Hi everybody,
It's great to be home from NCECA and to have all the great memories. Mel,
you give wonderful hugs. I got a beautiful tumbler in the pot exchange
from Lois Wilkins. Thank you, Lois. It's in a place of honor with my
Billie Mitchell, Donna Causland, Simon Levin, and Jason Hess pots.

What a great experience. I got to meet Kelly Savino and Elizabeth Priddy,
two people whose posts I always read and they're just as nice in person.
Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome in the ClayArt Room.

I've uploaded pictures to the following link from last week's memorable
event. http://www.nceca.phanfare.com/album/236517 I took nearly 800
pictures, so this is just a small sampling. Hope you like them.

WOW! Barb those photos were fantastic! I've never been to NCECA - but now I
think I must fit it into my annual schedule - I had no idea what you'd get
to see, and now! oh my gosh! I saw so many of my personal clay hero's work
in your photos I just can't stand to miss another year ever again!
Thank you Barb!

Barbara -

I don't know what to say except thank you so much. I almost felt as if I
was there.

Oh my, I'm sitting here with tears rolling down my silly face!

You captured the priceless, incomparable and juicy experience that is NCECA.

Thanks for the photos, Barb.
I'm still wading through mine, but here's the first batch,
from the opening of the ClayArters' show at Gallery Janjobe
on Tuesday evening:
http://dongoodrichpottery.com/NCECA/janjobe/

Arriving at the gallery was like a family homecoming.
The longer I stayed the more of us showed up and the more
hugs got exchanged. It was truly fulfilling to be among
Clayarters and our work, and it's a treat to have been able
to contribute to CERF via the auction. Thanks to Linda Haibara
for buying my plate.

The food that Nan and Billie set out was just the thing
after a seven-hour drive. Many thanks!

Sorry if the quality of the pix is somewhat inconsistent.
The lighting was rather challenging that late in the afternoon.
I think my photos of the tableware show turned out pretty well,
and hope to have them and others (including Dean Adams's cock art)
up soon.

Cheers,
Don Goodrich

My NCECA report is late in coming, but.. here it is.

I arrived on Tuesday, about an hour later than planned, as my GPS got
confused when I was in a construction zone. But arrive I did. Got
checked in and then looked for the ClayArt room. The display had already
been set up and Logan had some amazing donut flasks and I have a picture
of those on my flicker site.

Went on the Oakland Shady bus tour with a clay friend on Wednesday. The
work was really good and I wish my feet had held up better. There was a
lot of walking involved even with the bus. After I got back from that
tour I went to the La Mesa Show and also the Orton Conebox show.

Thursday and Friday I had selected several lectures I wanted to hear and
did go to do that. I also spent a lot of time in the vendor all and
bought lots of new toys. I got a bat system, curvy tools, new ribs... too
much stuff. I'm so glad I drove so I didn't have to worry about how to get
it all home.

In the ClayArt room, I shared a couple bottles of wine, talked to people,
sat in on Bill Schran's kiln shelf talk, and then participated in the cup
exchange. I was a big winner there! I got Mr. Mel's cup, along with a
great hug, and have used my cup for my morning coffee ever since. I need
to work on my handles and his example is soemthing to strive for. He was
also nice enough to critique my cups for me and I really appreciate the
feedback from someone I really respect.

Friday night I packed most of my stuff and put it in my car. I was a
little concerned about the drive home on Saturday as they were predicting
snow. But, I went to the closing lecture and then headed out. The drive
home was perfect. Clear blue sky where I was and I made really good time.

Here's the link to my photos. Enjoy.

Thanks for the memories.

Hello all;

http://www.flickr.com/photos/yamerica/

Here's my set of photos. I have not taken a lot. There were too many people at the Standard Clay opening. I was hungry and I spent a lot of time next to the snack tables. Most of the time, I was talking with somebody interesting!

I was overjoyed to have seen the Stephen Dixon show and was able to speak to him. He is on my top 10 potters list. I could tell he reads the Guardian from his work.

I liked Pittsburgh a lot. People are nice and the city is clean (I say this every time I go outside of NY city!) I have a very good Reuben sandwich at Sammy's. Although I couldn't work out if it is a dive bar or a deli.

It was very nice to meet new friends and old pals at the Clayart room. It was nice to be able to chat with Clayarts in person and put the face to the music. Needless to say, I love every moment of talking with the glaze fanatics.

One show I would have liked to see is Raku Dreams at the Imagebox Productions, Inc. It sounds good from the introduction in the Exhibition Guide.

I don't like to tag my photos or call out peoples names on Flickr. Please feel free to add comments and add informations to my photos.

Thanks and best regards
May
