Dear Julya,
Kia ora. Coming to New Zealand is a capital plan. lots of nice pottery here.
Also $NZ currently running at .41 against $US means some serious pottery
tool bargains to be had!
May I recommend a visit to the Auckland Studio Potters if Auckland is your
city of arrival? They have a web site (sorry no link but a google search
will get it right away. Also! as a tip, using the initials 'NZ' in internet
searches gets the most results as most New Zealand domain names end in
'.NZ'.)
If you are coming for easter, the "Big Smoke" conference is on at the
Auckland Studio Potter's centre with excellent visiting potters in
attendance, raku and other firings - much more. Also the centre will most
certainly be able to point you in the direction of work and potters who
would be of interest to you in the Auckland / Northland / Coromandel
regions.
If you are a Lord of the Rings fan, most location spotting opportunites to
be found a little further South in the central / volcanic plateau region,
Wellington city and the beautiful South Island. Actually, it's all
beautiful. Not that i'm biased.
Have a great journey.
Regards,
Paula Moros
