To potentially interested parties:
I am a recent graduate of the BFA ceramics program at UMass/Dartmouth.
I am presently searching for a full-time (40-60 hours/week) position for 2
to 4 years at a small- to medium-sized pottery studio. My goals are to
develop my skills and to gain a thorough understanding of how to set up and
run a studio. I would also like to gain more experience with wood and
salt/soda firings.
I have a basic knowledge of working with and formulating clays and
glazes. I am familiar with general studio duties and support work. I have
some experience with moldmaking. Most of my final undergrad work was
handbuilt stoneware platters and jewelry boxes, fired in cone 6 and 10
reduction and salt/soda. I am presently taking a night class to work on
throwing and to stay connected with clay.
I am located in New Bedford, MA and am willing to relocate. Most
details would be negotiable with the understanding that I need to make ends
meet. Please contact me by email if you have interest in taking on a
long-term apprentice and you desire more information. If you do not
presently have such a need but know of someone who might, I would be most
appreciative of his or her contact information.
Thank you very much for your interest and for taking the time to read
the above email. I hope that I will be a suitable complement for one of
you.

Sincerely,
Matt Kenyon

Matt,
I don't know of any apprenticeships right now. But, you might check out
Seagrove, NC. You can usually find some type of work there especially if
you don't mind basic studio work. I can provide you with some contacts if
you are interested.
