Hello,
I've built a small gas kiln which I've fired only twice. I'm using one =
of Nils' vapor burners with the pilot and safety system. The propane =
tank froze up a couple of times, and the safety system shut the gas off =
as it should.
I'm planning to fire a bisque load this weekend. I was told to candle =
for at least 6-8 which I'm using the pilot burner for. I know that a lot =
of people do this overnight, however my kiln setup has not developed the =
trust yet for me to just leave it there and go to sleep.
Can I do the candling the previous day, shut it off overnight and =
preheat the kiln for a short period of time in the morning? With my =
greenware dried pretty good do I really need this long candling period?
Or should I worry less and just have it go overnight?
Thanks,
Lajos
