does it never stop.

people reading into posts negative
thoughts.

we are talking about production,

not art.
we are talking about how to make money
not art.
god almighty. do folks ever read a post.
or, just react in the negative.

this topic is about production potters.
if you are not interested, keep out of it.

if you stare at the wall all day long.'
i do not care.
but, if you are a production potter, want
to make a living...FULL TIME, PRODUCTION
POTTER...AND YOU DORK AROUND.
YOU WILL NOT MAKE A PROFIT.
THAT IS IT.

if you sell insurance and don't make calls you will
go broke.

i will not post any more negative, slurs.
period.

Mel,
Please don't be offended!
I have to tell you that it wasn't until this thread that it finally dawned
on me that what I do cannot be done fast or in production.... or at least I
cannot do it ... yet.
This has been a valuable thread for me. A piece of the puzzle is now in
place.
If I want to produce teapots as a production potter the issue is being able
to do it FAST....(DUH... as I smack my forehead!) and sell at a fair price.
Now I have direction and can decide what I want to be when I grow up!->
I have never tried to make a 10 minute teapot. This exercise has me
psyched......... it may just be the beginning of a new breakthrough or a
confirmation that I am not meant to be a production potter.
I apologize if I offended you and apologize for the "knickers in a twist"
gang.

Hi mel:

Well, at least you got some sort of response.

Teapots are a wonderful challenge. Making teapots that are aesthetically
pleasing and a pleasure to use is a tough nut to crack and you have to make
a lot of them and keep at it. I've made them for a long time and I never
feel like I can blow any part of the making and finishing off. They take a
lot of concentration. You must learn to do this efficiently or your
enthusiasm for doing the work will wane. It's like Harry Davis
said. "Tedium is accentuated when skill is minimal."
