Virginia Museum of Fine Arts:
Steven Glass Lecture: Return to the Flame or Retreat from the Heat
In this lecture Steven Glass will pull from his three decades of experience=
in ceramics and discuss how his work has evolved in relation to the =
"great debates" of fine arts vs. craft in the days of Warren McKenzie and =
Wayne Higby. =20
He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1974 and is resident =
potter at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. He has been published in =
Ceramics Monthly and Art Papers, and has works included in Ceramics, =
Design Sourcebook by Edmund de Waal, London, England. His work will be =
featured in the next issue of Art and Perception. Currently he is =
exhibiting at the Rufford Craft Centre in England where he was resident =
potter. In June he will travel to South Korea to teach a workshop at the =
EWHA Women's University.=20
