Dear Vince,

You may well be right. However I was under the impression that it is the =
Phosphorus Pentoxide which acts as a glass former and that Phosphorus =
glasses and Silicate glasses are immiscible. It has to be a colloidal =
dispersion of the phosphate glass in the silicate glass. An interesting =
aside is the question of colloidal gold. A concentration of less than =
one tenth of one percent gives a deep ruby in Ruby glass.

If it is pure elemental phosphorus the first question which hangs in the =
air is "What is the Reducing agent?". The second , "Which Allotrope of =
Phosphorus is it?".

What is needed is more information about Phosphoric glass and I think we =
might find this in the Enamels data base.

An interesting topic and one well worth while following through.

Best regards,
Ivor
