Lajos - you should be able to get the equipment you need for this from an
R.V. accessory dealer. Just tell them it's to hook 2 propane tanks
together, and they'll give you what you need. Tha's where we got ours
before we switched to a 100 gal. tank.

Hello,
I need to hook up 2 propane tanks together to avoid freeze-ups. Should I =
use pipe fittings with 1/4" brass pipes, or can I use 3/8" copper pipes =
with compression fittings?
Thanks,
Lajos

How long is the run?
...what diameter about are you thinking of to hook these together?
Why not use hi-pressure 'rubber' Hoses as shall not get a kink or other
troubles if someone bumps them?
Where will the 'Tanks' be?
etc...

Hello,
I have the 10 gal. tanks right next to each other. I want to go from the two
tanks to a T, then into a regulator, and I have an 8 ft hose that goes from
the regulator to the burner. I'll make a "container" for both tanks from
wood to make sure that the tanks don't move.
I was thinking about a flexible hose, but i don't know where to get a a hose
that can handle unregulated propane.
Thanks,
Lajos

We have six 100lb bottles hooked together using a variety of
hoses. Mel is right that acetylene welding hose is easy to
find and works well. Most farm implement dealers can make up
high pressure hoses to any length with a variety of fitting
types. Try welding suppliers. Your LP gas supplier may have
what you need. The hose on an old gas BBQ may be long enough
for you. Use two and a tee. The tank fitting on the old
regulator may be removable too. We don't use the ones with
the "O" ring. Too far to town to get replacements. We could
lay in a supply of them, but why bother. Just discard the
old cheap regulator. Have your regulator and tank fittings
with you if you go to have a hose made up. All of our tanks
have old to very old valves. Our LP gas supplier will fill
about anything, and we have a wet leg on our 500 gal home
tank in case he changes his policy.

Hello Lajos,
You want to do what I did for my small test kiln.
Go to your nearest bottled gas dealer, or camper supplier; or call and inquire about a "Y" connector or a "multi cylinder connector" to connect two gas bottles to a single regulator. It may be necessary to connect two high pressure hose pigtails to a "T" fitting on a regulator.
