Your studio sounds like mine. I have a pure white cat - except for the undersides of his feet - who drinks only from the throwing bucket. I figure there must be interesting minerals in it that attracts both him and the dog!
And the shelf problem. I have to leave a 'path ' for the cat to access the top shelf, both on the wall and on the carts, or the pots are goners. I'm considering leaving a series of slabs for him to footprint for me so I can make a stamp from his footprint for cat dishes. No point in trying that with the dog. She'd just eat the clay
