Hi,

Mesh size are as follows:

7-p grog=biggest==need to ask for "P" grog--gets the "p" from pea size, but
not really that big
12-coarse
20-medium
30-fine

I use a mix of p grog and 20.

Thank you!

My friend needs help which his supplier can't seem to give. He has a clay
recipe with both AP Green Grog, "G"-grog and "P"-grog. He is trying to find
out the sizes of each. The supplier does not know what size (fine, medium,
or coarse) each one is. Anybody familiar with this material? thanks if
you can help. Toni Smith in Ohio

Hi:

This is amazing. The supplier hasn't heard of a "screen analysis". You
can figure out what the mesh size of a grog is by running it thru different
mesh screens, if you have them, and doing an average percent analysis by
weight. Take a pound of grog and run it thru various mesh sizes and record
the weights trapped by the different screens and figger the
percentage. This is only if one wants to be real anal about the data. If
you just want to know what the basic mesh size is, coarse, med, fine, it'll
take less time and fooling around.

You can also get ahold of Harbison-Walker who bought out AP Green and ask
them. I think I heard that Harbison-Walker sold out too but can't remember
exactly. It's a fast paced world out there.
