Just handles: pulled, carved, extruded, multi-media etc. for pots, mugs,
platters, jugs, etc. How to make them, how to find the right handle for
your pot.

Lids: same thing.

Getting Started With Sales: Tax implications, sales venues and how to find
them and which ones to avoid, booth construction, making an attractive
display, making those first slides, what to bring to that first sale,
pamplet, flyer, business card design. I've looked at a couple of books on
this subject and they just didn't have the information I was looking for.

Making pottery equipment: slab rollers, kilns, wheels, extruders, mixers,
puggers (can you make one yourself?) presses, jolleys, jiggers and
everything in between.

Teaching the hobbyist and children: For those who start teaching classes in
their studio. I know my first instructor could have used some tips.

Self Study Course: chapter by chapter skill building exercises and
projects. which skills to master in what order. Projects which increase in
difficulty. How to critique your own work. How to come up with your own
'look'. When to get outside help or classes. There are many how-to-throw
books out there (and I've bought many of them) but they don't quite go the
distance. For example, I have not seen the speed throwing exercise in any
of the books. Companion videos would be good.

I think that's it. There's is alot of information on all of these topics
out there but I have not yet found just what I'm looking for in these areas.
If anyone can recommend a book, please let me know!

From what I understand, the new magazine, Fine Art Ceramics
(503-622-3828), is attempting to teach the business and sales
aspects of pottery. I would encourage you to call the publisher
with article ideas.

Arnold, I have an alternative phone number for Fine Art Ceramics:
1-888-899-5985.

The Journal is also seeking articles of a technical and/or how-to nature.
