Two of my absolutely favorite places for good shows in NYC.
I saw a kimono show there that was not to be believed, old pieces of
kimonos , artfully draped on stands so as to hide the holes and missing
pieces, and the ultimate, a great Japanese quilt show..the Japanese
learned the American techniques during the occupation Of Japan, but then
used local fabrics and the japanese sensibility to make one of the most
memorable shows of my life.. Also about 2 years ago, a wonderful basket
show at Asia house..
I live in a beautiful place but oh, how I lust after my lost NY gallery
and museum scene.
