I have a burner system that I need to identify. There is an attachment
on
the back of the blower that I've never seen before and I don't know if there
is
suppose to be a guage screwed into it or what. Is there someone on the list
that I can e-mail a picture to that may be able to help me? Thank you

Dear Melinda;
You have one of the finest atmospheric burners made in
America. Rockford, IL. Look on the casting to find a place that says
TR-something. If it is a TR-8, you have a 2" Eclipse injector. TR-6
is 1.5", etc. The size refers to the pipe size at the flame end. The
part in the back is where the orifice is adjusted, but on my kilns I
remove that and cap it with the appropriate threaded allen set screw.
Can't remember the size, but take it to a good hardware store to find
one that fits, and tighten with your finger pressure.
Suggest you ask Eclipse for their bulletin H-1 dealing with
Atmospheric Injectors. They work best with one or more Sticktite
Tips, which are good flame retention tips. You can manifold these to
double the output from the mixer. When you find out what you have,
and have the mixer and tip bulletins in hand, ask me how to do this.
Cheers, Hank in Eugene
