firing with corn

Kevorto,
Several years ago I sent a student to buy ground up
dried corn cobs (comes in 25 lb bags for small animal
bedding) for a pit type firing, and she came back with
dried corn instead. Ever hear of POP corn? Hot Kernels
went flying out like bullets and made a great noise
when they hit the tin roof of the shelter. However,
ground up corn cobs burn very hot and might be useful
to you.
Happy firing.
Linda
