buckingham and kingman feldspar

Hi:

The closest thing we have to Kingman is G-200. Kingman had about 12%
Potassium and G-200 has about 10.7%. That's the big deal, without going
into the other oxides and the alumina/silica content.

When Moose Creek Feldspar becomes available, it will be the potash spar of
choice. Moose Creek has about 13% Potassium. This is a very good potash
spar.

Good Morning Feldspar Fans;

I have done fusion buttons of all the spars available to me +
the supplies of NOS Spars I had on Hand.
Buckingham deserves the fine reputaion it had in the
beginning of the studio pottery movement. The fusion button shows a
nicely melted and rounded button with no crazing.
Kingman shows a less melted and rounded button with some crazing.
Custer is still less melted and less rounded, with more
crazing and some bubbles.

All fusion buttons were fired in more than one firing, and
all in the same location in the kiln (C/10). Glad I have 200+ #s of
the Buckingham.

My all time favorite was K-200 feldspar, which contained 14%
Potassium!

Best, Hank

Having seen rumors on Clayart about this new Feldspar for some time now
on Clayart, I want to ask...

What is the story about Moose Creek Feldspar? Will Moose Creek be
available soon? If so where? Is there any way to get small quantities
at the present time?

Thanks in advance for any update.
