In an effort to share teaching information that was gleaned at NCECA,
we're collecting clay curriculum for various school/age levels.
This is an informal exchange that is a branch from the efforts started by
Karen Terpstra for "the Grand Clayart Syllabi Exchange".
I've received responses from a small number of people, but I'm hoping for
at least five people before I make the syllabi publicly available...
If you are interested in sharing (this means your information will be
visible on a website with your name included for credit unless otherwise
noted), please either email me an attachment of your sylabus, or mail it
to me (email me for my address). Karen Terpstra, who has oraganized this,
has a great suggestion to also include background information about your
place of teaching (high school, craft center, seniors' center...?) .
thanks for your participation!

Thanks for posting that Joyce. I am one of those who has not sent you
anything yet. I will be tweaking the syllabi again as soon as school is
out, then it will come. I also have permission to send you the syllabi
of our Studio Business Practices course taught by our metalsmith
Professor Bill Fiorini.
I hope a class like this really becomes a new trend everywhere. There
was a post this week where someone just graduated and was needing
business advice. I thought, "what a shame more schools don't offer this
type of class". We started it at UW-L four years ago and it has made a
tremendous impact on students when they leave. We see a big difference
in their confidence in what ever they choose to pursue, and we see a big
difference in their portfolio.
Thanks Joyce, for taking this project on.
