kathy,
first, i was crabby, that i did not get to meet you.
next time.

and yes, have seen those kilns.
several of them.

they are amazing.
i love it that you are standing in the chimney.
the entire room.

he is far ahead of most of us.
and man, do i respect that.

i guess the most important factor with the jt abernathy kilns
is the `no chimney` concept.
it vents right into the room.

with the use of masses amounts of compressed air
the vent fumes are clean.

so, as he says...`the entire room is a chimney`. leave a window
or door open however.

he has broken many concepts in firing and clay...and he proves how wrong
many people are with bad theories. his clay bodies are like magic.
but, he makes clay for a purpose and a specific temperature. nothing
with j.t. is `one size fits all`. he says that `broad range` is total and
complete b.s. if you fire to cone 10, make a cone 10 clay and glaze.
nothing else works.

i am looking for my pictures....as i told gail, the
only text i have lost from all my articles, is the
text for j.t.'s article.
