Hi Snail,
Are there medium priced ones? The cheapos are junk,
but I can't bring myself to spend $60-$100 on a brush
when they get such a beating with the glazes and
oxides. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Kathy,
Here is the website for Oriental Art Supply:

http://www.ningyeh.com/oas/

I have used their brushes for both pottery and sumi painting. I am not a
brush expert, but these have worked well for me.
I've also made brushes from deer tail, squirrel tail, and moose hair. I
made the handles from clay, wood. ect....really derived lots of pleasure
from that. If you want info on that, post to the list. I would be glad to
help, but I know I am not the only person on Clayart that makes brushes.

Hope this helps.

Honestly, I can't remember where I got mine,
but I guarantee I wouldn't have spent much over
$10 for one. They must be out there somewhere.
Anyone have a lead?

I look for the cheapest natural brushes I can find at the hardware or craft
store. They work great, most of the time.

try the grocery store for a shoe brush, they are very soft and made of horse
hair.
