Hi folks,

As it says above in the subject line, I'm still quite far behind in
letting you all in on my discoveries...

Here are tonight's temptations:

Canadian Potter Cathi Jefferson
http://www.cathijefferson.com/
Vancouver area functional potter
Surface decorated, altered, wood and salt fired pieces.
A truly gifted artist.

Indonesian and Lombok Terracotta Pottery From Bali
http://www.naturebali.com/ALL_ABOUT_LOMBOK_POTTERY.htm
Some interesting work, all low-fired.
A number of pieces are combined with basketry or with cord decoration.

MacKenzie Art Gallery (Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada)
http://www.mackenzieartgallery.sk.ca/collection/view.cgi
A good online gallery that includes a fair number of pieces of clay work
(listed under "other" or "sculpture".
Useful search terms: "ceramic" "clay" "earthenware" "stoneware" "raku"
"porcelain" "slip" "terra" "terracotta"
More works are listed than are viewable as images.

Juana Sosa Alache
http://www.imow.org/artexhibition/alache.htm
Ceramic Sculpture: Peru
Just the one piece, but delightful.
A site featuring international women artists.

Shiro Otani
http://www.artistpotters.com/artist_potters/otani/articles/so_article.html
Article by Robert Barnard in the new (to me) publication "Artist Potter".
Published in Ceramics Monthly, 39(6), Summer 1991, 49-56.
Interesting junction of modern and traditional sensibilities.

Faye Tso - Dine (Navajo) potter
http://www.migrations.com/blackmesa/blackmesapotteryforsale.html
Tso uses traditional methods, including rubbing the (mesquite-fired?)
pots in pinyon pitch. She is in her seventies.

Scott Cooper (Clayarter)
http://www.negentropic.com/clay/index.htm
St. Earth Pottery, in Greencastle Indiana
Soda and woodfired functional pottery
An interesting set of essays in his Philosophy section

Kurt Weiser - one of a kind cast asymetrical china painted vessels
http://www.garthclark.com/previousexhibits/kurtweiser/kurtweiser_works.htm#
Intense, complex multi-fired work. Highly coloured images from nature
meshed with human and animal figures. A brooding sensualism prevails.

Anyway, "Enjoy!"
