Dear Misty,
Provided the pitting form the corrosion is not excessive and you can =
grind most of it away may I suggest that you use an old remedy.
Emery paper and Kerosene (Light Paraffin)works very well with a little =
elbow grease.
In industrial extruders they use a light oil to ensure the inner =
surface of the barrel retains a waterproof coating. However, this can =
have a negative effect on plasticity. You might inquire of the ACS =
archives for more information.
