Dear Snail,
re :- Anyone care to speculate on why this is true
of porcelain and not stoneware?
Using Vinegar and not slurry.=20
Porcelain has a large platelet size - stoneware is secondary or even =
tertiary clay and of smaller particle size. Being of a larger particle =
size porcelain will be more forgiving in taking moisture on board than =
finer clay bodies.
As to scoring and slurrying, I just use slurry, no scoring, on both Reds =
Terracotta clay and my Stoneware Buff with no adverse affects - in fact =
I think more successfully, but then I think each to their own, and what =
works well for you is the right way.
Happy potting Marek http://www.moley.uk.com=20
