Hi all -
I'm packing up my meager possessions and heading to Illinois where I can
live cheaply, set up a studio, and start pursuing this pottery dream of mine
to its fullest (boy, it felt good to turn in my resignation at my "real
job).
First order of business is to upgrade to a new wheel. So I'm selling my old
one, details below. I am in the Denver, Colorado, area, and the buyer will
need to pick it up.
Kick wheel details:
- Home made, modeled after and looks exactly like a Brent kick wheel.
- Exception: has a wheelhead cut from a piece of countertop -- this
wheelhead is warped, it will need to be replaced with a regular metal one.
- I am the second owner. The first built it himself. He would center 25 lbs
on this baby, no motor. I have never been able to make it work for me
because the distance between the seat and wheelhead is too long. A taller
person (over 5'10" or so), which he was, would love this baby.
- It really needs a loving, useful home. I did not use it near enough
because of the size problem. I (and the builder) would love to see someone
use it with great love.
My instructor suggested that I ask $200 for the wheel; I am negotiable. Will
need to get it out of my house by the weekend of June 15/16.
