Marybeth Coulter-Best, formerly of Colorado, is an
internationally recognized artist now living in Mexico. Her
work is sought after by collectors in the United States,
Mexico, France, Sweden, Russian and Japan. The influences of
Marybeth=92s pottery are also international. Her understanding
of pottery comes from the United States; her color and
design =96 from the strong light, vivid colors and primitive
forms of Mexico; the classic look and feel of pottery, from
the Far East.
Ceramic teachers with whom Coulter-Best has studied include
Omi Peterson, Cynthia Bringle, Angela Fina, and the late
Daniel Rhodes, author, clay sculptor and former professor of
Ceramics at Alfred University. Marybeth has a Masters Degree
in Education and is one of only five potters authorized to
use the Kosai Ware glazing process as taught by Biz Littell.
