The Phoenix fast fire that was build as a class project through UNCA on =
our Farm in 1996 has been fired enthusiastically with a variety of =
techniques and usually reaches cone 10 to 12 in 12 hours to 25 hour =
depending on weather, wood and intent.=20

It has been fired perhaps a total of 50 times in six years. The soft =
bricks have been shrinking and the high duty fire brick arch in the =
firebox have sagged about 3/4 " leading to a sag in the back wall of the =
chimney center with a shifting of the bricks that has changed very =
little in the last thirty firings. However this sagging has tipped the =
roof arch and it has deteriorated so that we have removed the roof arch =
and can either :
=20
1. Shim the roof arch with hard brick and castable then rebuild the roof =
arch with the addition of itc to see if it holds up a little better.

2 Take it all down and start up from the bottom.

3. Come up with a better idea. Any suggestions?
