Dear Fara,
White fuzz on molds are the soluble salts in the deflocculant coming to the
surface. They cause no harm. They can either be wiped off with a wet sponge
or you can use a metal scrapper to lightly scrape the surface of the mold.
The latter technique is usually recommended as it removes the most saturated
portion of the mold wall.
In theory these salts, over time, will clog the outer pores of your molds
(hence scrapping) and slow down their absorption rates. But by then the
inner surface of the mold is rather pitted anyway so the outer surface is
the least of your worries.
Take care
