Here are a couple of recipes you might want to try, which include Grolleg as
well as other clays.


MARTIN WOOD FIRE PORCELAIN C10- 11

Grolleg Kaolin 12.5 parts
EPK 20.0
6 Tile Clay 25.0
XX Sagger Clay 12.5
Pyrax 15.0
Bentonite 2.0

WOOD FIRE.

CUSTER 30 PARTS
BENTONITE 3.5
GROLLEG 42.0

PYRAX PYROPHYLLITE 20.0

The main reason for using the English Kaolins like Grolleg is if you want
to have translucency in porcelain. The reason is the English clays have
less TiO2 than the North American clays. TiO2 interferes with translucency.

EPK is whiter than any other Kaolin I have tested but is not the best
choice if you are after a translucent body.
