Another mystery solved! I wondered why the elements on my olympic kiln seem
short lived. Can I use elements from another source for my olympic kiln?
thanks,
Valerie

I have had the opposite....
having fired my olympics, one that I have had for 18 years, I find that they
make it to about 75 (tho they tell me 100) firings before needing changing.
I have 4 of them and firing them between ^06-^10.
.Just my 2 cents!

I have had my Olympic for over 20 years and just had to replace one element
a short time ago. My 2 cents.

Talk to the folks at Euclid's. They'll be able
to advise you on your element options.

Same with us over here, however we now get them made locally to the
original specs., which I suspect have been altered for what ever reason
over time.

I was given an old Olympic 2 years ago, with old elements. They seem to
work great. I replaced the top 2 because they were sagging from worn out
element grooves and one had touched a glazed pot and burnt out. The
replacements I got are from Clay Art Center in Tacoma, WA, probably the
same place the kiln's original owner got them. They seem fine. I think
maybe they put them together themselves or have it done according to specs,
I'm not sure.
