I have been using speckled brownstone and redstone clay from
Highwater clay in Asheville.  I have combined them both in a slip
bucket.  ...they are both cone 6 clays.  WIll I be able to recycle
this combination into more clay and how?  We did at school and I knew
the receipe for a cone 6-10 clay...which was our basic school clay ...but I
don't know about this.  Any suggestions would be
appreciated.   Thanks, Marie

Hi Marie,

This should be no problem, since both are cone 6 clays -- I have mixed
these two clays with no problems. Make sure they are well mixed or you
may have a streaky result (which may be OK!) Just dry out the slop and
wedge thoroughly to get the bubbles out.

One other note from personal experience -- if you are making mugs or
anything else with handles, out of recycled clay, set aside some for the
handles when you throw the mugs -- that way it is sure to match in color,
since mixed clays can vary from one batch to the next.
