And NY City mayor, Sir Rudy, vetoed legislation to repeal the ban on
ferrets as pets in New York City. saying it was 'special interest
legislation for weasels'. ok elsewhere in NY state.
Otherwise, they are the third most populus pet in the US, behind (WAY
behind, admittedly) cats and dogs. Not particularly as 'working animals'
as in UK. Yes, they smell like ferrets-- nothing smells as bad as a wet
dog. well maybe a dead rat. Yes they like their bathroom to be situated in
a corner; automaticly housebroken if you can agree on which corner and
outfit it. Some bite, some don't, most can be trained not to.
And yes, rodents know that smell and don't like it. You should see the
squirrels desert our bird feeder when 'little guy' goes for his morning
'perimeter search'. Using the litter box droppings as
a 'reminder'/deterent has been only marginally effective, however.
And i love this line from the 'how to' ferret book: Ferrets have excellent
hearing, they are somewhat deficient in listening. Sound like anyone else
around your studio?
