Meant to add that claybuds have informed me that most any work =
designated for firing in an electric kiln can be done in gas kilns.... =
I've found this to be true, naturally having to check it out for =
myself... wouldn't you? My misperception was that
electric was for oxidation, bisque and low cone firings only; gas was =
for reduction and high firings only. Whatta dork.......

Joyce
In the Mojave .... same dork who when my very first mentor said she'd =
like to "see" a commercial glaze I'd mentioned discovering at Laguna =
.... MY OWN discovery, of course, just languishing there for me to find =
it ... didn't even know there were commercial glazes ..... well, when =
Lois said she'd like to "see" the glaze, I was tickled to be able to =
bring it to our next meeting ..... in its original little brown bag.... =
five lbs of a rust color, though not rust in the bag, of course .... =
Lois sweetly thanked me and put it aside. At the end of our session she =
gently advised me that when a potter says she'd like to "see" a glaze, =
she means ON the Pot, and Fired .....
(in case I misunderstood and brought in the bisque freshly glazed next =
time ...). Later I understood how dorky I was but we did have many =
laughs from that and equally dorky episodes, even shared it with Art =
League ..... not potters, few laughs.
