Greetings clayarters,
I am in the market for a electric kiln,( 7 cu. ) but my knowledge
is very limited on which brands are best. I did look in the archives,
and either did not use the right key words, or god knows what ( I am new
with these contraptions), but I could really use your guidance on the
subject. I do ^6, and I would like to know which one gives you the best
bang for your buck.( I followed the Olympic thread, I hope I am not
opening a can of worms) Off line would be fine. unless the subject needs
covering.
Thank you,
Ron

Hi Ronny,
I am here to send you back to the Archives! Just what you wanted to hear, I
am sure. But, this is another Archive that has a direct feed into
discussions on Clayart about kilns: http://www.potters.org/categories.htm
Then go to the Kilns section, find manufacturors and spend the day reading.
You will end up with tons of info and then if you have specific questions
about particular kilns, post those.
If I had to buy a new kiln, I would make sure it had 3" walls. I'd go for a
ConeArt with a three zone controller. I don't have a ConeArt. I have
something else.
Good luck,
Carol

Hey Clayart,
I just wanted to say thanks to the folks that responded to my post on
looking for a new kiln. It caused me major brain cramps, but I think I
made a better informed choice out of the deal.
Thank you Carol Tripp, ( archives do not hurt ) Eleanor,( Buying a
skutt ) Bob Nickolson, ( Maybe a Coneart down the road) and Janet ( Will
send you a tile sometime).
I have not had a new kiln in eleven years, I think this is going to be
a treat!!
Thanks again,
Ronny Dee
