Hey folks, I dropped out for a while - had some computer problems, and
even now I have to use my husband's computer to get Internet access. So
I'm on Digest setting, and it's actually great.

I was just exploring the archives, and found a couple of postings on the
Shimpo Velocity wheels. I just (last night) bought a V-75. Went down to
Clay Art Center in Tacoma, fell in love with it, and had them throw it in
the back of my car on the spot (they really took time to talk to me about
it, too, especially Joe - nice guys). Haven't thrown with it yet (darn
day job just gets in the way), but I was impressed with its speed, smooth
acceleration, and it's so QUIET compared to others I looked at. Prior to
this, my dream date was always the Brent CXC, which I'd thrown on a lot
in class. I was not especially enamored of the Shimpos they had at
school (the stubby little ash-can-bodied classics) - they were
workhorses, but not real smooth (could have been the years of abuse). So
I was surprised to be swooning over a Shimpo, but there I was. Poking
around tonight, I saw a February posting from Sabra Wood and response
from Jim Bob Salazar regarding this wheel, so I was wondering if Sabra
went and took the plunge? If so, how are things going? Anyone else have
one of these? Was I too impulsive, or can there truly be love at first
sight? I'll be getting it dirty this weekend - can't wait!

hi Arthur,=20
i have recently purchased two of the velocities to replace my shimpo =
(grey box) and my rk 2..... does this date me or what? my rk 10 gold is =
still hanging in there.=20

any way goodness these are sweet. quiet and strong.=20
only a few months old but i'm hoping they will hold up as well as my =
other two.

the splash pan could be better, the one i use for throwing gets all =
gunky under and slides apart.

the one i use for trimming i move the splash pan out a bit and it =
catches lots of ribbons from my bison tools.

C U @ nceca !
