let me get this all in one place for others. sorry for confusion.
first: we weighed the sourthern ice as shipped (moist), and the
silicon sealant directly from the tube. the sealant is fairly low
density so it is a substantial amount by volume.
for mixing we had much better luck with a laboratory extruder
than by hand mixing. the device resembles a "kitchen aide" tool.
