A glaze recipe I found lists a material called "Superior glaze clay". I
don't know of this and can't find it listed in my suppliers inventory.
Anyone know what this material is compositionally, what alternative names it
might go by, or what might be an appropriate substitute for it in a glaze?

Try looking for Number One Glaze Clay, which is a ball clay produced by --
stretching my memory here... Hickory Clay Company? It does work very
nicely in glazes. Like most ball clays, it has more silica and less
alumina than kaolin, so you can't really sub it one for one with EPK. You
might try another ball clay. I have the analysis at home -- if you write
to me there (candle@intrex.net), I might even remember to send it to you.
