food induced dreams lead to creative thinking

Dear Julie Milazzo and Pammyam,

What have I started with this one!!! Great to learn that success came =
after a second helping.

For those who may have overlooked the idea, it seems as though the Herb =
Basil may contain a substance which induces dreaming. Since Dreaming is =
a process of refining and resorting thoughts of current and past =
experiences it may help to trigger ideas which can be used creatively.

Best regards,

Ivor Lewis. Redhill, South Australia.

Iandol, Julie, and all,
Just a follow up:
I have known that taking vitamin B, particularly
B6, at night can promote much more dream activity.
This is to the point that I don't want it to
happen!. Since the information about basil, I
have been quite intrigued. The _quality_ of the
dreams is apparently quite different. I cannot
describe exactly what I mean, but they are very
detailed and structured and not quite as random,
it seems. I love basil and cook with dried basil
in liberal amounts year-round. I use fresh much
less often. It will be interesting to note
whether or not the theory holds! Since I have
often had periods of bizarre dreams throughout
life, this is an intriguing, fun, new idea to work
with.
I'm off to have some now....
