Encouragement from another potter......even flattery is good.

Dear Merrie, Thanks for the reminders of what motivates one to work, I am a
school teacher during the year and in my "spare" time I try to get as much
potting done as possible. I look forward to getting more work done on my
vacation. I have had a slow start this summer. I am looking forward to a
week in Tennessee with Tony and Sheila Clennel and hopefully will come back
with lots of ideas to make better use of the rest of my summer which is
quickly flying by. But just in case I will clean my studio before I go and
break out the new clay. I am printing this and putting it on my wall for
inspiration. Thanks, Jill Dieffenbach from Cape Fear Studios in
Fayetteville, NC

I don't know about everyone else, but what motivates me to work is the bills
- the electric bill, the car payment, the grocer's bill, etc, etc...all are
great motivators!

For me it is images flooding into my head about things I want to try.
Pictures in my head of pieces I want to make. I was trimming trees
yesterday and every branch was an idea for a pot using branches as handles,
so I began havesting handles (I know this is not an original idea, but it
was to me at that moment.) Everything I see with texture is something I
could use for a piece. The images possess me.
