Dear Ariel,
I too live in the LA area. There are many places that charge either by the
square inch or a "membership" where you can work there, use all their glazes
and kiln.

The clay house in Santa Monica comes to mind. I didn't use them because they
are not air conditioned and I can't work in this horrible heat. I know of
two places in the valley if that is convenient to you. One is in North
HOllywood, the other place is in Sherman Oaks (she charges too much). The
place in North hollywood charged me $60 for a full size kiln. I gave him 20+
pieces.

what area in LA are you looking for? I ended up purchasing a L&L kiln from
laguna. It is worth it. I like the control.

make i make a suggestion? Pay $44 for a semester at Valley or Pierce
college. Valley is all you can fire, Pierce is a certain limit...but it is
reasonable if you go over. This is the best route...you use all of their
supplies like glazes and they can teach you something to boot.
