bisque fire, upside down, bad idea...

Last night I did a bisque fire and put a platter upside down on its rim.
Once it was too late (kiln was 500 degrees) I realized this is probably a
dumb idea... With no airflow across the top of the platter, I don't believe
the organics had any chance to escape and are probably not burned out. Am I
right on this?

Thanks
Cindi

Dear Cindi;

You needn't worry about burning the organics out. If you got
to C/06 or so, they're gone.

Best, Hank
