I will be in Eugene , Oregon Sat Aug 4 and 5 then traveling
to Grants Pass and will be there 5-8 then back to Eugene,
leaving Sunday the 11'th in the afternoon. What clay related
places should I try to get to?

James,
If your in Grants Pass you are about a 45 minute drive south to Ashland, Or.
In downtown Ashland there are lots of galleries with interesting pots. I
recall seeing some of Bill Campbell's pots down there. There is a potter
with a store front in Talent, OR. which is just North of Ashland. I think
her name is Bonnie Morgan. At least she had a shop a few years ago. If you
go to Ashland be sure to visit Lithia Park, and the Shakespeare Festival
cant be beat, if you go try to get to the Elizabethan Theater, which is
outdoors, awesome! Also, Jacksonville is near Medford, There are a handful
of fine craft galleries there too. Might be able to catch some good music in
Jacksonville at the Brit Fest. There is an open back road from Grants Pass
to Jacksonville through the Applegate Valley that is a wonderful drive. Cave
Junction, which is about 30 miles west of Grants Pass, has some galleries.
On a trip to the Redwoods many years ago we stopped at a potters store front
there. Don't know if its still there. But Cave Junction is more likely to
have art then Grants Pass. I have looked for pot stuff in Grants Pass and
haven't found it, but the surrounding area has some things to see. We live
in the Portland Metro area, but my wife is from Southern Oregon, and I have
spent a lot of time down there. I would suspect there is lots in Eugene, but
others could elaborate on Eugene better then I. I understand they have a
decent sized Saturday Market. I do know there are a lot of potters and
artisans in both parts of Oregon. Hope you enjoy your stay ourt here!
