Hi Sandy,

Well, if you already have bentonite in your glaze, it might be a good idea
to see if Epsom's salts will do the trick. I wish I could remember how the
Salts should be mixed. But I think it's about 500 g in 1 litre of water,
then use a tablespoon or two of the solution.

I make the same glazes here in Yellowknife (where it's precambrian shield -
alot of granite - and the water is quite pure) as I do in Saskatchewan
where there is alot of Calcium and magnesium in the water. The glazes
settle more here. Some are good both places, but overall, the ones in Sask
settle less and occasionally get puddingike!

For that reason, I think water might play a part and you might need to add
salts to it for the bentonite to work.

(As usual, I'm speculating with a "little bit of knowledge", but that's
what keeps pottery interesting for me!)
