I am looking for a recipe for a heat-setting mortar. I have gathered that
the commercial mortar i have used in the past probably contains silica,
fireclay, sodium silicate (because it says so on the warning label) and
cement, but i don't know what the proportions are. Also, i have heard that
portland cement is not refractory enough to use in mortar, so does anyone
know what type of cement will work in high-fire applications?
Thanks
