My own experience was being told by a wonderful chap at college, in the =
first year of my degree, that I had to get the shape of each pot from my =
head to my fingers, and the only way to do that was by repetition.
I had to lose my tail (see B. Leach)
Throwing is a psychomotor skill.
Designing pots is a mental skill.
You cant do loose until you have done tight.

I work in small batches of each of my 4 shapes and do 30 of each before =
moving on, in rotation. This is enough to loosen up the form, do some =
good ones , just like the last ones and maybe push it a bit at the end =
when I've got a bit casual with them.
It seems to work for me anyway.
