My friend and I recently did an oxidation firing cone 5 using clay rated for
cone 4-6.
I used a Moroccan Sand glaze of 2 coats under Amaco Hi Fire Texturizer, then
applied 1 coat of the Moroccan Sand over this.
My friend used some hi fire Duncan glazes. My pieces came out with
blistering and so did some of hers. Yet there were some pieces that were
fine.
THis has been happening in some of our recent firings, using different brand
glazes and is not predictable.
Can you help us as to some of the probable causes.
