waxing feet- a trick

Hello Jean,

If you want an even dip in wax (which you'd realise is more difficult with
wider based forms), place three coins (or piles of coins or similar) equally
spaced around an imaginary circle the size of the foot of your pot IN THE
WAX.

Lower the pot until it touches each of the coins at once and gently remove.
You'll find no splashes, and assuming the surface of the wax is horizontal
and parallel with the base of the wax container, you'll have a perfect wax
line.

Hope this helps. Other items of equal thickness can replace the coins of
course and if you are wanting to dip pots of varying base diameters, then a
radiating set of three equal-in-thickness "spokes" might suit better.

Clayhugs,

Geoff.
